Over my 15+ year career of shipping enterprise-class software products and APIs, I had experienced the workforce shortage for skilled labor worsen. As a product leader, I needed to innovate, so we hired fast, from Israel, Eastern Europe, India and Latin America. In an attempt to grow fast, diversity was not a priority. I asked myself, “What can I do about this?” This question came to me in the middle of the pandemic, when a lot of people were experiencing hardship and was the genesis for founding Nimi. Our mission is to upskill the global workforce without bias by matching high-growth Fintech companies with talented experts. And we’ve started with Sri Lanka.
Nimi’s vision is to create a safe, remote-first, flat organization where Sri Lankan experts can do their best work and therefore uplift the Sri Lankan workforce without bias. And we will do that by both placing our experts into Nimi Core where we help high-growth US companies grow today as well as building products in our accelerator Nimi X. Our commitment is to reinvest our profits into Nimi Grow – youth development programs in Sri Lanka – and within the next two decades to significantly divert young Sri Lankans into highly skilled jobs in the Sri Lanka IT industry in partnership with SLASSCOM.
When you join Nimi, you join a community of experts who embrace the silicon-valley mindset of product thinking and not afraid to fail. You’ll also join a rare company with best-in-class gender balance and ethnic diversity Sri Lanka has never seen.
